Do I need a prescription?
Yes, we do require prescription and we dispense orders strictly on prescription as per international laws. The Optometrist who filled your prescription must give this to you by law. Your prescription should not be over two years old. You can fill the prescription form online and later forward your prescriptions via fax at our toll-free no 1-800-305-8020 or email at prescription@buymeglasses.com.
Do you supply bifocals or progressive lens?
Yes we supply Bifocal (executive or flat-top lens) and progressive lenses. It can be added to your order at the product page. Further details about different styles of lens can also be found in the types of lens section of this website.
Can I add bifocal lenses to all the frames?
No. The bifocal lenses cannot be added to all the frames. At the bottom of each frame you can view whether it supports bifocal lenses or not.
Do you supply contact lens?
Not now but we hope to add them very soon.
Are the lenses available in glasses or plastic?
Only plastic lenses are availabe with us. The world prefer them as they are light, durable and safer than glass.
Can I use my contact lens prescription for ordering glasses with you?
You must have your eyes checked and a prescription issued (less than 2 years old) for use with spectacles before ordering with us. Your contact lens and eyeglasses prescriptions may seem the same, but they usually have differences.
Can I use my multi-focal prescription for single vision glasses?
You have a prescription for multi-focal glasses but wish to order for single vision reading glasses, leave off the “add” part, which is for the near or reading correction.
Do you carry lenses that change from light to dark?
Yes, photochromic or transition lenses (they're called) change from light to dark in response to changing levels of UV light. They do not replace sunglasses in all situations, such as inside a car, because the windshield filters UV light, which keeps these lenses from darkening. Apart from their convenience and fashion appeal, they are ideal if you are sensitive to light.
Can I add tints to my glasses?
We have 40 colours available in tints.You can select for your colour while filling the order form.
Is there anything, which can be done for the reflections in my glasses?
Yes, We offer you anti reflecting coating on the lens, which will reduce the glare appearing on your glasses. Select the option of anti reflecting coating when you order.
What is my pupillary distance?
The pupillary distance (PD) is the distance in millimetres from one pupil to the other. A correct pupillary distance PD ensures that the lenses are correctly positioned in relation to your eyes. It is recommended to have your PD measured by an optician or alternatively the measurement can be taken quite easily as in the picture below. If no value is entered it will be left set to the average PD set by our dispensing opticians of 63.
What if the frames need adjustment after I receive them?
Before shipping, all frames are thoroughly inspected, aligned and professionally verified to the prescription provided. If, in rare case, you need a minor adjustment, for example if the arms are loose, or nose pads need adjusting most opticians will do it for a low price.
What's the best way to clean my lenses?
Wash your lenses with warm, soapy water, rinse well and dry with a cleaning cloth or lint-free cotton towel once or twice a month. Do not use cloths washed with fabric softener.
How can you charge such low prices?
By having our shop on the Internet, we eliminate costs like high street shops, equipment for testing your eyes and staff etc. (which your local Optician has) and therefore we can sell high-street glasses without the high-street price.
What are the modes of shipping?
We ship your order to the shipping address provided on the Order Form via the indicated method of shipment in 5-business days following receipt of your order. We provide airmail and speed post to deliver to your doorstep. All glasses are shipped in factory sealed packing and are double-checked for an accurate quantity. How much time would my order take to reach?
The airmail takes maximum 3 weeks to reach and speed post (courier) transaction takes less than 10 days to reach from the date of shipping.
What is the cost of shipping?
Our standard shipping charges are fixed at an affordable cost of US $9 for Airmail & US $15 for EMS Speed post per order regardless of country but limited to 10 items per order
How do I track my order?
You will receive an order no. Tracking numbers are assigned to speed post orders only. Go to the Track order link and enter your order number and email address. You will get to know the status of your order.
Do you ship to my Country?
We ship worldwide including Canada, US, Japan, UK and Australia. While ordering with overseas websites, you should place your order well in advance to allow them for any unexpected delays with the customs or shipping agency.
Is it safe to order online?
Through an online payment gateway system payments are processed. You need not worry about your credit card information falling into the wrong hands because your bank will authorize the credit card transaction directly without any information passing through us. In approximately 25-30 seconds (depending on your internet connection) your bank will issue via the online payment gateway an authorization code and evidence of completion of transactions. What If I don’t have a Credit Card?
We can accept other forms of payment, such as Bank wire. Contact us on care@buymeglasses.com if you want to pay using a method other than credit card. We would be happy to hear from you
